Why we tested the Steadyrack Classic
Vertical wall storage is the easiest way to add bike capacity in a typical two car garage. We wanted to confirm the Steadyrack lives up to its reputation across a mix of road, gravel, and trail bikes.
What we liked
Swinging a loaded rack 160 degrees to flush a bike against the wall is the feature that earns the price. Three bikes hung side by side cleared each other with handlebars staggered, and lifting a 28 pound gravel bike into the hook took a couple of seconds.
What could be better
Tire clearance maxes out at 2.4 inches. Plus tire trail bikes squeak in, but a 2.6 inch enduro tire will not seat. Steadyrack sells a Fat Rack variant if that is your bike.
Value
At $89 the Steadyrack Classic Wall-Mount Bike Rack is the right Sports & Outdoors in 2026.
Steadyrack Classic Wall-Mount Bike Rack vs. the competition

| Feedback Sports Velo Wall 2D | - | - | Alternative - Folds flat against wall but requires lifting bike higher each time. |
| Park Tool Solo Single Bike Storage Stand | - | - | Skip - Floor stand takes more space than a wall pivot for the same money. |
| Saris Cycle Glide Ceiling Mount | - | - | Upgrade - Ceiling slide system fits more bikes, costs much more and needs joists. |

Should you buy the Steadyrack Classic Wall-Mount Bike Rack?
The Steadyrack Classic is the wall mount we recommend for anyone who stores two or more bikes in a garage. It holds the front wheel rather than the frame, so it works with carbon road bikes, hardtails, and most full suspension rigs without any pinch points. The 160 degree pivot lets you swing each bike flat against the wall so neighboring bikes do not collide. Installation took about 25 minutes per rack into wood studs, and after months of daily lifting we have not seen flex or wear.
Frequently asked questions
Does this work with carbon frames?+
Yes. The Steadyrack holds the front wheel, not the frame or top tube, so there is no risk of crushing a carbon tube.
Can I mount it on drywall?+
No. You need to anchor into wood studs, steel studs with proper anchors, or solid masonry. The included lag bolts assume a stud.
Will it fit a 29er mountain bike?+
Yes. The Classic accepts wheels from 20 to 29 inches and tires up to 2.4 inches wide.

Merino wool and synthetic polyester base layers solve the same problem in different ways. Merino is warmer when wet and odor resistant. Synthetic dries faster and costs less. Which one fits your trips depends on duration, sweat rate, and budget.
